Top 5 Beasts of the Week by Michael Valverde (Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week #4)

by Michael Valverde

1.Fred Jackson- Has simply outproduced CJ Spiller.  Last week Spiller had nine yards on ten carries, while Jackson had seven carries for 72 yards.  He also added four receptions for 37 yards.  When you add goal line carries, he becomes a main target on your waiver wire.  He will probably be in a time share with CJ Spiller every week, and may not always produce good numbers.  Available in 10% of leagues

2.Bilal Powell- Chris Ivory cannot stay healthy and Pilal can make a difference in the bye weeks for your team.  He had 27 carries for 149 yards and been consistently productive.  Has a real chance to be the full time starter, but its the Jets he will be starting for.  Available in 28% of leagues

3. Johnathan Franklin- After the Starks experiment ended in injury, Franklin took his turn and produced.  He had 13 carries for 103 yards and 3 receptions for 23 yards.  He is a definate add for Lacy owners, and in PPR formats.  Just dont think he is going to be anything more than a handcuff.  Available in 88% of leagues

4. Josh Gordon- Great performance upon his return from a two game suspension.  Had 10 receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown.  He seemed to continue to showcase his skills as he was in pre season, but instead of Weeden it was with Brian Hoyer.  There is no doubt he should be targeted right away to be on your team.  Just reserve that Hoyer will most likely be the starting quarterback.  Available in 6% of leagues

5. Geno Smith- consistently put up steady numbers and keeps getting better.  He put up 331 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 14 yards and another score.  On the year he has 800 yards and three touchdowns, he also has rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown.  His interception total of six is concerning, but he should continue to get better and those should decrease.  Also, keep in mind he has played against the 16th rated passing defense in Tampa Bay, and the seventh in New England.  Last week his rookie of the week nomination numbers took place against the 19th ranked defense, excellent target for those bye week replacements, and keeper for next year.  Available in 88% of leagues.
