One of the biggest NFL 2012 off season moves has to be Peyton Manning signing with the Denver Broncos. With that being said the true question becomes where does Peyton Manning rank among other top Quarterbacks when it comes to his fantasy football value?
I personally believe that Peyton comes back as the same ole Peyton we all remember. Now I know some of you are thinking, wait a minute.... he is with a new team, he did not play last year, he has to learn a new system and he has to perfect the timing with his new receivers as well as them learning his style of play. Oh and not to mention he's not getting any younger (36 to be exact). So yeah there is a lot of things pointing to him having a down fantasy football season although the upside to is move is that he is "Peyton Manning" and he is joining a team that has young talent all around him. (ex. Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas, Jacob Tamme, Knowsho Moreno). They also have a proven coach in John Fox and I'm pretty sure Peyton already knows the play book front to back.
So now that I have shared that I think Peyton Manning is going to come back as the same ole Peyton the next fantasy football question becomes what round do you take him in a standard snake draft?
I think he will be worth taking in the 3rd or 4th round but in most cases I'm sure you will be able to grab him in the 5th or maybe even 6th round because others may be sceptical.
Now lets not forget about the auctioneers, if you are in a standard auction style draft I would value him around $18.00 which would be a steal as I see him starting slow but finishing the year as a top ranked QB.
